For the parents we work with, our goal is to help you acquire the focus, helpful dedication, and understanding to best support and advance your athlete in ways that help them experience more joy and perform their best. If your athlete is considering competing at the collegiate level, we can help you navigate the sometimes confusing recruiting process, with an emphasis on finding the best fit for them.
We provide a variety of services for parents:
- Individual/family consultation works on the specific issues that you and your child face in developing their skills and sport career. This work emphasizes goal setting from the parent and child perspective, enhancing communication within the family, defining roles within the family, and identifying the specific ways that each member of the family can actively fulfill their role. A primary result of family consultation will be both optimal performance AND family cohesion.
- Community group workshops provide interactive education to organizations of parents who want to develop tools for actively supporting the peak performance of their child athlete. These workshops are designed to clearly state tools for effective sport parenting and discuss how they can best be put into action. Workshops are tailored to the specific needs of the community by adding topics that are unique to the group and focusing on specific issues that the group needs to address.
- Team based consultation works by helping parents develop into a cohesive unit that forms the backbone of the team’s community of success. All truly great youth sports teams have overwhelming positive and goal oriented parent involvement. In order for this to happen, parents need to have a clear understanding of the team’s goals as well as how they can be supportive. Team based consultation aims to help the community around the team coordinate all of their resources in order to accomplish their goals. An added benefit of this consultation will be increased enjoyment of the season by parents, players, and coaches .
